Caroline Wood

I represent a range of fiction, from literary prize-winners to upmarket reading group fiction, and well-written crime novels. I’m looking for work that is ambitious and surprising, both satisfying to read and deep enough to warrant rereading. I love books with heart, and prefer the complexity to be in the characters and their relationships than in the prose. I’m particularly drawn to messy family stories, books about human connection and misconnection, and books full of longing.

Novels I have loved recently include The God of The Woods by Liz Moore, All Fours by Miranda July, In Memoriam by Alice Winn, Close to Home by Michael Magee and A Far-Flung Life by M L Steadman.

There is nothing I like more than finding a new literary voice, so if you are a debut author with a unique story to tell, please send it to me.

My non-fiction list is growing and I am especially interested in the worlds of art, culture, music, food, nature and mental health.
