Liam Shaw

Liam Shaw is a biologist at the University of Bristol researching bacterial evolution. His writing on science has appeared in the London Review of Books and the Morning Star. 

His first book, Dangerous Miracle: The Extraordinary History of Antibiotics – And How We’re Burning Through Them (Bodley Head, 2025), was a Radio 4 Book of the Week, a Sunday Times Book of the Year and a Waterstones Popular Science Book of the Year.
